BIO

J. Carlos Flores recently worked with James Gunn in the second season of Peacemaker, a spin-off from the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) film The Suicide Squad. He played Hugo alongside John Cena and directed by James Gunn himself and Greg Mottola.

Last year, J worked on the season finale of Cobra Kai  [Netflix] directed by Joel Novoa joining the overarching Karate Kid universe.

In 2023, J Carlos wrapped Megalopolis [American Zoetrope Productions] with the legendary Francis Ford Coppola working on set with Adam Driver, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Dustin HoffmanJon Voight & Giancarlo Esposito.

 

2022 - Tales of the Walking Dead [AMC] directed and produced by Michael Satrazemis - marks J Carlos' debut in the USA. Other credits include Found [NBC] directed by DeMane Davis and Caught Up  [BET+] directed by Mark E. Swinton.

J worked intensively with playwright John Patrick ShanleyOscar, Tony, Pulitzer Prize winner - at stage readings held at the Lee Strasberg Institute in Los Angeles, CA in 2021 and 2023.

 

J started his career as a professional actor in his native Mexico at the age of 19 working for Televisa, he had roles in broadcast internationally telenovelas such as Amy, La Niña de la Mochila Azul (Amy, the Girl of the Blue Schoolbag), Camaleones (Chameleons) and Rafaela.

 

He played starring roles in three big Mexican movies: Walt Disney Pictures'  High School Musical, El Desafío (The Challenge) as the Mexican Chad. He embodied the Private Perez in Salvando al Soldado Pérez (Saving Private Perez), one of the most expensive Mexican films ever made. And lastly, the inmate Siqueiros in the multi-awarded La Cuarta Compañía (The 4th Company) acquired by Netflix. This film was an official selection of the 28th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival and record-breaking winner of ten Ariel Awards including Best Picture of the Year in 2017 by the Mexican Film Academy.

The 4th Company is considered one of the best Mexican movies of the past decade.

Juan Carlos guest starred in 'Deja Vu' at Sony Entertainment's series Los Simuladores (The Pretenders), this episode led the show an Emmy nomination for Best Foreign Comedy in 2010.

Currently J Carlos develops his opera prima as writer and creator of the stage play: "White Laundry" (two naked men... play?) and the shortfilm: "White Laundry" (three quarters... short).

Both programmed for the summer of 2026.
